Passport is the SAP program for counting indirectly created documents. Well, that should be a reality someday. SAP is still working on the correct counting method for indirectly created documents. The currently diverse variants depending on the release and the subsequent note definitely provide a corresponding number of indirectly created documents.
This number of indirectly created documents is currently still incorrect in the vast majority of cases, which them to extend the SAP Digital Access Adaptation Program, which was supposed to end in spring this year 2020, until the end of 2021.
This message means between the lines that the SAP is not yet able to provide a working tool for this counting of indirectly created documents so quickly.
samQ can do that already!
With the samQ solution you will not only able to determine the correct number of indirectly created documents, but we can even make it transparent which users have generated these documents and this reveals amazing things and shows how important it is to know where these documents come from.
Such indirectly created documents are often created by dialog users, i.e. by people who have a valid SAP license. The background to this is the use of third party software, which is chargeable via the NetWeaver Third Party Foundation license, is used by licensed SAP users and now generates chargeable documents. Triple licensing!

Without samQ, this background is difficult to recognize, you have to know where to look, but mainly you have to know that you have to look!
We have already described all of this more or less in the last few blogs.
But it still wasn’t complete. In most companies, Passport is only rudimentary or does not exist at all, but this changes step by step with every release change. At some point the release is reached, where a new value appears in the engine measurement …
The indirectly created documents!
At this moment, the SAP account manager pulls out the price and condition list from SAP and makes it clear what amount he wants for it.
If you are caught unprepared for this requirement, you will almost certainly pay too many documents, which will cost 22% maintenance again and again over the next few years.
If you have prepared yourself, you can separate the wheat from the chaff, then you can reap the 90% discount and are prepared for any discussion during the SAP contract negotiations
